A coat of paint can make all the difference for a layout under construction. I’m really fond of choosing standard colours to help speed up the process. It also makes it easier to find a match later. I use latex paint and I keep the paint chips handy for future reference. I paint the backdrop blue and everything on the ground an earthy green colour. Even though the layout is very much under construction a coat of paint makes a huge difference.
