Progress on the Little Current Layout Continues. This week I’m building a GRS style searchlight signal that is near the swing bridge.
The photo etched parts are very small, but with a jig to hold square it wasn’t too bad. Wish I took more photos of the parts going together but the parts are tiny and it didn’t look like much for awhile. Sometimes I get on a roll and forget. The signal will be red all the time so locomotives don’t fall off the end of the layout…Photos show bare metal, base colours, then with washes and lenses added.
I used Vallejo paint for the whole project. I’m new to Vallejo since my favorite paints are discontinued or hard to get and its been really nice to work with both brush painting and in an airbrush.
I’m going to focus over the next weeks on modeling the structures on the first module, which models the Swingbridge to where the tracks start to curve. That way I know everything fits together before I get too far along with scenery. There is still a long way to go until this area is recognizable but I’ll get there.
