I’m starting building construction on module 1 today beginning with the smallest building on near the backdrop. I’m calling it the swing bridge shed but I’m not really sure what it did – I’m guessing it was used for communications with the bridge operator.

The white shed beside the Little Current swing bridge is an important one as it’s got to scale well with the swing bridge and other backdrop details. This model is made of evergreen styrene siding, a tichy door, a tichy 2/8 window that I cut down, scrap styrene for the shed door and the roof off of a bar mills kit. Model dimensions are a bit of a compromise so it will fit on the layout near the backdrop. Unfortunately I can’t tell if the trim is black, dark green or dark blue from the photos I have. All are taken on bright sunny days or colorized. I think its black but every day I think I see a different colour.

This the best photo is a postcard I found online from the 50/60’s time period. Below is one of my better reference photos and a quick shot of the building on the still under construction layout. Side by side the orientation doesn’t match but I’ll share some views in as I get the whole scene further along and I think this helps the overall perspective look right.
