Laying track is always an exciting time. I’m carefully working on laying track one module at a time while also building other details for the Little Current layout. I’m using Peco Code 83 switches and modifying them so there is no question they will conduct electricity reliably without relying on the point rail contact on its own. I’m using some ultra flexible stranded wire on the points so they don’t interfere with movement. They day I started this work I saw an ad for the new Pico and Walthers switches that use one continuous piece of rail – If I waited for everything to be perfect, I would probably never build this layout – oh well. Once painted these wires will be practically invisible. I think its a good trade off for reliable service.
