Over the past few weeks I’ve been laying track and turnouts. Care was taken to make the transitions between the modules easy to connect – they snap together with magnets – and make sure track is smooth running. They layout is in a multi use finished basement and can be setup or taken down in 5-10 min easily. There is still lots to do but I’m ready to test the newly laid track on my Little Current switching layout modules from Brewers Retail to the swing bridge.
This is very much under construction but I want to show the messy process even if it is pretty ugly right now. The track plan is modeled after LC in the late 1950’s to early 1960’s before mixed train passenger service ended with a few compromises to make this work as a stand alone switching layout. To accomplish this I’ve added a runaround since I didn’t have an extra space to model the swing bridge and wye needed. Since the layout is built in modules, I will save that for when I have more space and add on to it. I will come back later and add elevate the Imperial oil spur and rework hwy 68 so it fits better.
