Imperial Oil Updated

Recently I finished the Little Current Imperial Oil Facility as faithfully as i could with limited photos from the time period. But I had a change of heart. The more I thought about it, there are very few people who would recognize this location the way I modelled it during a time where I had very few photos to wokr with. I decided to change the storage building so people could identify it using photos from the mid 70’s. By that time, the building was looking pretty worn so I have to assume that the building had been that way for some times anyways. The ability to make changes is one of the things that I love about model railways.

Here’s the new building I scratch-built:

When I made this updated building I tweaked the dimensions to better represent what I saw in photos. This location is finished with a basic level of detail. I will come back when the layout is further along and add more.

The photo below shows how this facility has more room to breathe. Compare it to my earlier Imperial Oil post and you will see what I mean. The open space makes it a better location to photograph.
