The road surface is 120 grit belt sandpaper painted with Vallejo warm grey colours. The shoulders are sand that I painted the same. I’m weathering hwy 68 to match the backdrop photo this week with powders and matte acrylic clear coat. Lots more to add still.

Its interesting trying to match the angle of the backdrop photo on the layout. The photographer probably had to scramble up near the Imperial Oil property to get this angle.

Below is the in progress photo I always forget to take. Still a lot of details to add but here is a but black and white version as well as the original postcard I used for the backdrop image.
